Eco Moyo multipurpose hall

At lower end of Eco Moyo stands the Multipurpose Hall, a building conceived by engineering students Marie Eggen Norløff and Veronika Nyhus, the hall’s structural system is a construct of the students local observations and practical thinking. This hall is a further development of the students master’s thesis at NTNU.

The hall’s distinctive design features a strategic gap along the roof’s apex, a clever solution for thermal regulation. The opening allows hot air to rise and escape, maintaining a comfortable interior climate. Complementing this, the facade’s vibrant gaps double as ventilation channels, enhancing airflow while adding a playful touch of color that mirrors the lively spirit of Eco Moyo.

Architect Jan Godzimirski, with his understanding of local conditions, refined the design in collaboration with the administration of Eco Moyo and with feedback from Engineers Without Borders. His experience ensures that the hall not only meets the community’s expectations, but also tries to integrate with the aesthetics of the school.

With the recent completion of our sports area, including a soccer field, volleyball court, and parkour facilities, Eco Moyo has become a hub of activity and joy. The Multipurpose Hall is the final piece to the puzzle as it becomes a place where the community will be able to come together further on sunny and rainy days.
